Curated by Kate Orne
On view May 12- Aug. 19, ’24 at Manitoga, Garrison, NY.
Designer Russel Wright built his home, Dragon Rock, in intimate dialogue with the landscape at his property, Manitoga. He incorporated hemlock needles from the forest pressed into his studio ceiling, covered a door in birch bark, encased butterflies and other bits of nature in his daughter's bathroom door, etc. The home, perched at the top of the quarry bluff, invites the landscape inside with its sweeping glass facade.
In this context, with the works of Jeremy Anderson, Sam Falls, Kieran Kinsella, Myra Mimlitsch-Gray, Lola Montes, Rodger Stevens, and Sagarika Sundaram, artists with a deep connection to nature, Kate Orne curated The Source of Everything to encourage us to continue this meaningful conversation about how we are inspired by nature and where that inspiration leads us.
